Geely Q3 Revenue Rises 10% to RMB 99.0 Billion as Core Profit Grows 32%
Geely Automobile Holdings reported RMB 99.0 billion of third-quarter revenue, up 10% year on year, alongside company-reported sales of 813,000 vehicles, up 7%. Its non-HKFRS core net profit attributable to shareholders rose 32% to RMB 5.21 billion, while the statutory attributable figure rose 28% to RMB 4.84 billion. The filing and Xinhua coverage also put nine-month revenue at RMB 272.6 billion; the two profit definitions and reporting periods must not be interchanged.

Revenue Growth Exceeds Reported Sales Growth
Geely Automobile Holdings released its third-quarter results on 29 October for the reporting period ended 30 September 2026. Third-quarter revenue reached RMB 99.0 billion, up 10% year on year. Company-reported vehicle sales for the quarter were 813,000 units, up 7%.

The comparison shows that revenue grew faster than the company's sales-volume measure. It does not, by itself, establish the reason: model mix, consolidation scope, pricing and other business lines can all affect the relationship between volume and revenue. The sales figure is a company operating measure, not a registration total or an estimate for the entire Chinese market.
For January–September, revenue reached RMB 272.6 billion, up 13%. That cumulative figure must not be confused with the RMB 99.0 billion recorded in the third quarter alone.
Core Profit and Statutory Profit Tell Different Stories
The company highlighted RMB 5.21 billion of third-quarter core net profit attributable to shareholders, up 32%. The statutory profit attributable to owners of the parent was RMB 4.84 billion, up 28%. Both can be correct because they answer different accounting questions.
For the first nine months, core attributable net profit was RMB 14.9 billion, up 41%, while the statutory attributable figure was RMB 13.93 billion, up 7%. Using the 41% core growth rate beside the statutory RMB 13.93 billion figure would combine incompatible measures.

Geely defines the core measure as a non-Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards metric. It starts from profit attributable to owners of the parent and adjusts for attributable after-tax net foreign-exchange gains or losses and impairment losses on non-financial assets. The company cautions that the adjusted measure should not be used in isolation or as a substitute for the statutory result.
Keep the Company Scope Clear
These figures concern Geely Automobile Holdings Limited, the Hong Kong-listed company. They should not automatically be presented as consolidated results for every business associated with the wider Zhejiang Geely Holding group or every marque connected with it.
That scope also matters when interpreting operational implications. Revenue and profit at the listed-company level do not provide a condition grade for a used vehicle, a forecast for an individual model's residual value, or proof that parts and service support are equally available in every export destination.
What Export Buyers Can Reasonably Take Away
- Use results as manufacturer context, not vehicle inspection. A profitable reporting period does not replace checks on a specific car's battery, structure, maintenance and electronics.
- Keep the reporting period attached to each number. Third-quarter revenue and profit are not directly comparable with nine-month cumulative figures without aligning the periods.
- Name the profit definition. Core attributable profit is an adjusted non-HKFRS measure; statutory attributable profit follows the financial-reporting framework. Neither should be shortened simply to “profit” when comparing growth rates.
- Do not extrapolate to the whole industry. Geely's revenue, sales and earnings describe its own reporting scope, not the performance of every Chinese manufacturer.
Source and Measurement Note
Financial figures and the core-profit definition come from Geely Automobile Holdings' third-quarter announcement filed with HKEX on 29 October 2026. Xinhua's 30 October report independently confirms the headline Q3 revenue, core profit and nine-month figures. Sales volumes are company-reported operating data, not registration statistics. All monetary figures are in renminbi; percentages are year-on-year comparisons for the matching period and metric.
