A separate Hong Kong filing by Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. (9973) reported 282,458 sales of its five major brands in October, up 7.2%, including 132,023 NEVs and 194,674 exports. The two releases use different reporting entities and brand scopes, so their totals should not be combined. These are manufacturer-reported sales volumes, not retail registrations or industry-wide sales.

October Sales Rise 5.3% as NEV Volume Sets a Group High

Chery Group reported 295,934 vehicle sales in October 2026, up 5.3% from October 2025, according to the group's monthly sales bulletin published on 1 November. The figure covers the group's own reporting scope, not the entire Chinese vehicle market.

New-energy vehicle sales reached 140,893, up 27.7% year on year. The bulletin says this was a new monthly high for the group and the seventh consecutive month above 100,000 NEVs.

For the ten months through October, the group reported 2,502,723 sales, up 9.3%, and 999,417 NEVs, up 43.2%. The bulletin says cumulative NEV sales had already passed the full-year 2025 total.

Exports Top 200,000 for the Third Time This Year

October exports were 200,618, up 58.7% year on year. According to the bulletin, this was the third month in 2026 in which monthly exports exceeded 200,000. For January to October, exports totaled 1,751,766, up 64.8%.

The same bulletin said Chery sold 292,000 vehicles in 24 European countries in the first nine months of 2026, up 182%, including more than 146,000 NEVs, up 251%. It attributed the European market data to Dataforce, an automotive market research firm. These are company-reported regional sales and are not the same measure as October exports or registrations in every destination market.

Two Releases, Two Statistical Scopes

On the same day, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. (stock code 9973) published a separate Hong Kong stock exchange announcement. That filing reported 282,458 sales of its five major brands in October, up 7.2%, with 132,023 NEVs and 194,674 exports within that total. For the ten months, the listed company reported 2,359,349 sales, up 10.1%.

The two releases should not be added together or treated as restatements of each other. The group bulletin describes group-level sales; the listed-company filing covers the five major brands of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. They use different reporting entities and brand scopes. Differences between the totals therefore do not by themselves identify which brand or business contributed the gap, and this article does not estimate that split.

What the Figures Measure

The group figures are manufacturer-reported sales volumes for October 2026 and the ten months then ended. They are not a count of retail registrations, insurance registrations, production or revenue. Export volume refers to vehicles sold outside China under the group's definition; it is not the same as customs export data or destination-market registrations.

The listed-company announcement states that its figures are unaudited, have not been confirmed by the auditor and may be adjusted. Readers comparing the two releases should first align the reporting entity and the period before drawing conclusions about growth.
