GAC Nine-Month Revenue Rises 12.29% as Net Loss Widens to RMB 6.99 Billion
GAC Group filed unaudited third-quarter results on 30 October: total operating revenue for January–September reached RMB 75.156 billion, up 12.29%, while net loss attributable to shareholders widened to RMB 6.987 billion. Separate company sales figures reported by China Times put nine-month exports at 197,700 vehicles, up 138.9%, showing that rapid overseas growth and group profitability remain distinct measures.

Growth and Losses Appear in the Same Filing
GAC Group released its unaudited 2026 third-quarter report on 30 October. For January–September, total operating revenue reached RMB 75.156 billion, up 12.29% year on year. At the same time, net loss attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached RMB 6.987 billion. Financial reports based on the filing calculated that the loss was 62.04% wider than in the comparable period.

The two directions are not contradictory. Revenue describes the scale of business recorded during the period; attributable profit reflects what remains after costs, expenses, investment results and other items. A manufacturer can expand sales and overseas activity while its consolidated earnings remain under pressure.
Keep the Two Revenue Lines Separate
The filing contains both total operating revenue and operating revenue, and they are not interchangeable. The nine-month total includes RMB 610.972 million of interest income. Operating revenue excluding that item was RMB 74.545 billion, up 12.48%. The 12.29% headline growth rate belongs to the broader total.
For the third quarter alone, operating revenue was RMB 28.423 billion, up 17.91% year on year. That single-quarter figure should not be compared directly with the nine-month total without aligning the accounting line and reporting period.
Overseas Volume Is Growing Faster Than Revenue
Separate company sales data cited by China Times put GAC's January–September exports at 197,700 vehicles, up 138.9%. This is a company-reported sales measure, not a customs total for China's vehicle exports. It also covers GAC's own overseas business and should not be extrapolated to other manufacturers.

Faster export growth can broaden distribution and brand exposure, but volume alone does not establish the profit contribution of overseas operations. Freight, local distribution, market-entry spending, exchange rates and product mix all sit between wholesale volume and consolidated earnings.
What Vehicle Buyers Should Take From It
- Do not read a group loss as a verdict on every model. Product condition, specification, documentation and local demand still need vehicle-level assessment.
- Do not treat export growth as a used-car supply figure. GAC's reported exports concern its own vehicle sales; they are not a measure of Chinese used-car export availability.
- Watch execution as well as volume. Sustained overseas expansion depends on distribution, parts support and residual-value confidence, none of which can be inferred from one growth percentage.
- Keep financial periods aligned. The next audited annual report will provide a fuller basis for assessing whether revenue growth translates into improved earnings.
Source and Measurement Note
Financial figures come from GAC Group's 2026 Third Quarterly Report filed with HKEX on 30 October 2026 and are unaudited. The distinction between RMB 75.156 billion of total operating revenue and RMB 74.545 billion of operating revenue follows the filing's accounting lines. Export figures are company sales data reported by China Times on 31 October, not customs statistics. The 62.04% widening of attributable net loss was reported by Zaker/10jqka based on the filing's comparative figures.
